Crazy Weekend
A Memorable Experience in My Life
A Memorable Experience in My Life
There was a unforgettable experience when I was made fun of by my
classmates. One day, we had an oil painting class, and our teacher
taught us the concept of oil painting. During the break, two of my guy
classmates felt bored. So, they planned to play a prank on one of
our girl classmates, but not on me. They put blue paint on her chair, and
they waited for her to sit on that chair, and they wanted to see her
embarrassed face. However, I didn’t know their plan and sat on that
chair. I saw some of my classmates were trying to hold their laughter, but
I didn’t know what was happened. After oil painting class, we had math
and PE classes. Meanwhile, I heard a lot of people laughing at me, but I
still didn’t find out there was paint in my white pants, until I went home.
My mom noticed the paint on my pants, and blamed me. She asked why I
wasn’t careful. I felt curious about when and where I had paint on my
pants. None of my classmates told me what had happened, until the day
we graduated from elementary school. Now, I think they just felt sorry for
me because they played a prank on the wrong person.

Q/A
B) If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? What has been you favorite place to visit?
If I can visit anywhere in the world, I would go to Europe. It is very
expensive to take a trip in Europe , so I never visit Europe before. I saw a lot of beautiful
pictures of Europe in magazines or internet, such as French manor, Spanish bull-
fight, Italia men and England Big Ben. There are full of exotic atmosphere
in Europe. I hope I can visit Europe as soon as possible.
So far, South Africa is my favorite place to visit. I have visited there
five or six times in my life. The people there were very friendly and
passionate. Every time I went to South Africa, and there were always a
lot of surprises let me explore. I am so excited about tradition Africans food, Safari,
wide animals, traditional custom and music. They didn’t have crowded people, a lot of noise
and messy cities. Every time I came here, and I felt released and peace. I cannot wait to visit
South African again.
A Person Who Has Made a Difference
A Person Who Has Made a Difference
When I was studying at the university, there was an amazing person,
Wendy-Zhuang, who changed my life a lot. We studied in the same
major, we had the same English name and we also were college
roommates. At first sight, she had short hair, and wore T-shirt, jeans
and sneakers. I thought there is a tomboy who is going to live with
me. She was the first homosexual in my life. I was a little bit shocked and
wondered how to speak to her during these four-year life of dormitory.
Which way should I talk to her, as a girl or a boy? I was judging her by
her semblance. But I found out I was totally wrong by the first
impression.
She loved reading and helping people. She admired knowledge and
she was reading all the time. I always called her Dr. Zhuang because she
learned wisdom. If I had any kind of problem, no matter if it was a
studying question, a mental problem, or illness, she always could solve
these problems. On the other hand, she liked to help people out. She was
not only helping her friends, but also other people who needed help. She
had been a volunteer since she was in high school. Unlike her
appearance, she was an intelligent, wise, kindhearted and open-
minded girl. Although people are quick to give lesbian judgments, she
didn’t blame them, and sometimes thought of their ways. I learned a lot
from her, such as reading broad, judging a person without appearance,
being open-minded and so on. We have been good friends for five years,
and she is my best friend, who always give herself to other people than is
helped by others.

ALP Composition-Introducing Myself
Introducing Myself
Hi everyone! Today, I am going to introduce myself. My name is Hsiang-
Ting, or you can just call me Wendy. I was born in Hsin-Chu, the windy
city of Taiwan. I had a wonderful childhood with my family in Hsin-Chu.
There are four people in my family, my parents, my younger brother and
me. But we have been separated and now live in different countries. My
dad has to work in China, and my brother studies in South Africa. I miss
them so much, and hope we can get together as soon as possible. I spent
most of my student life in my home town, until I went to university in
Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. Although my major was business and
finance, I was interested in advertising and traveling. However, no matter
what subjects I study, I think English is not only helpful but also very
important. I have studied English for more than five years. However I still
cannot use it fluency. Therefore I joined the American Language Program
to improve my English ability. At the end of this program, I hope there is
a lot of progress in my English. I can do some art, but I don’t have other
special talents. My hobbies are listening to music, visiting art galleries,
and traveling.

ALP Composition-Introducing My Classmate
Today, I am going to introduce my classmate Faisal Al-Ibrahim. He was
born in the United States, but grew up in Saudi Arabia. He speaks Arabic
very well. Faisal has a big family with five brothers and one sister. He also
has a wife who is studying at CSU Fullerton, and they have a beautiful
six-moth-old baby. Before he came to the United States, he had ten years
work experience: five years in the hotel industry after he graduated from
high school, and another five years in the environmental production
industry. Now he is back at school. He joined the American Language
Program so he can apply to a university in the United States. His dream is
to get a bachelor’s degree. He wants to major in value engineering
because he was good at math and calculus in high school. He doesn’t
have special talents, but he likes playing soccer and watching comedies.
Now, he spends most of his time with his beautiful wife and their lovely
daughter.
